DC grids are becoming increasingly important in numerous application areas. They enable more efficient power distribution by eliminating the need for multiple AC/DC conversions and reducing energy losses. At the same time, they make it easier to integrate renewables, battery storage systems, and modern DC loads. This also places greater demands on switching devices, which must reliably handle high switching frequencies while remaining efficient and durable.
The innovative SIRIUS 3RF5 DC solid-state relay devices have been specifically developed for DC applications requiring more than 1,000 switching operations per hour. They are available as a DC solid-state relay for mounting on a heat sink or as a solid-state DC contactor with an integrated heat sink. Thanks to very low power losses, less heat is generated, reducing cooling requirements and extending service life. This helps lower operating costs and increase system availability.
