Growth Talks are our modern approach to enabling performance: frequent, high-quality conversations that lead to better alignment and transparency, and increased performance through individual growth. Growth Talks are both reflective and future-focused, and can happen between anyone, anywhere, at any time. They can be dialogues between manager and employee, amongst team members, or within a management team of peers. Instead of rigid and complex performance management processes, Growth Talks will be simple and agile – strengthening a Siemens culture of empowerment and trust. Growth Talks are made up of four key elements: Clear Expectations, Everyday Learning, Timely Recognition, and Growth Perspective.

Continuously aligned, clear expectations is a two-way dialogue to build trust and strengthen performance. This element focuses on alignment, commitment, and engagement for team and individual expectations and goals.

Growth perspective

The growth perspective element is crucial to the success of Growth Talks. Conversations between employees and managers should have a future-focused approach. We should constantly be seeking opportunities to improve and grow.

Timely recognition

Everyone is different. Everyone has a different way that they like to be recognized and rewarded for their work. There is no one-size-fits-all, or a once-a-year approach that will work for everyone.

Everyday learning revolves around the idea that by regularly asking for feedback, managers and employees know what is expected of them, and can implement changes in a timely manner.
