What does a company contribute to society? This question focuses primarily on demonstrating a positive impact and a substantial contribution to the sustainable well-being of the society in which it operates.
This is the essence of Siemens: technology with purpose. For over 175 years, we have been offering innovative technologies with the ambition to improve the lives of people around the world. To highlight Siemens' contribution to Dutch society, we have compiled a Business to Society report.
Business to society
As a business, we have an impact on society, among other things through our economic footprint, the extent to which we support and accelerate innovation, and our contributions to a fair and transparent society. It’s also about the impact we have on the lives of individual Dutch citizens, the livability of their environment, and of course, the major challenge of our time: limiting climate change and achieving an energy transition.
What is important for the Netherlands?
We not only look at our own activities but also at the societal drivers to improve the economy, health, or development of the country. This helps us map out what we do as a company and assess the influence we have or could have in the future. The report illustrates how we are addressing the challenges of today and tomorrow, and the role technology plays in this.
