Flexible protection functions
Up to 20 additional protection functions can be created by the user. Therefore, protection of change for frequency or reverse power protection can be realized.
The SIPROTEC 7SJ80 relays can be used for feeder protection of high and medium-voltage networks with grounded, low-resistance grounded, isolated or a compensated neutral point. The relays have all the required functions to be applied as a backup relay to a transformer differential relay.
Definite and inverse time overcurrent for phase and ground, directional stages and sensitive ground fault work together to clear faults quickly and limit service disruption, with backup for transformer differential protection.
Use integrated circuit‑breaker control and programmable logic to implement interlocking and switching schemes directly in the relay, reducing external PLC complexity and engineering effort.
Leverage IEC 61850 with GOOSE messaging and redundant Ethernet options including RSTP, PRP and HSR to integrate reliably into digital substations and keep data flowing during network events.

The SIPROTEC 7SJ80 units can be used for feeder protection of high and medium-voltage networks with grounded, low-resistance grounded, isolated or a compensated neutral point.
This relay provides backup for transformer differential protection. Inrush suppression prevents unwanted trips. High-impedance restricted ground-fault protection detects transformer short-circuits & insulation faults.
The integrated programmable logic (CFC) allows the user to add own functions, e.g. for the automation of switchgear (interlocking). The user is also allowed to generate user-defined messages.
