Our high-power testing lab in Schaltwerk, Berlin, conducts rigorous tests on circuit breakers and medium voltage components. We assess their short-circuit capabilities, capacitive switching, peak-withstanding current, and other vital parameters. With a maximum of 40 kA short-circuit current at 19 kV, our adaptable power setup includes transformers and reactors to meet your requirements.

Conduct your tests with confidence. The maximum generator output is 1300 MVA and the maximum short-circuit current (single and three phase[peak/rms]) is 105/40 kA.
The heart of the high-power testing laboratory is the short circuit generator. A 1.5 MW asynchronous machine fed by a frequency converter operates as the drive engine.
The transformers are of six-leg type with each central leg containing a 35 kV coil on the high-voltage (HV) side. The two outer legs are unwound and form the return path. The four coils can be connected in any combination.
