In the strategic debate on the current state and future of the chemical industry in Poland and Europe, Katarzyna Byczkowska (BASF Poland), Kamil Majczak (Qemetica), Paweł Bielski (Grupa Azoty), and Maciej Zieliński (Siemens Poland) analyzed the key challenges of the sector, focusing primarily on solutions and actions that can strengthen its competitiveness in the years ahead.
Three themes dominated the discussion: cost competitiveness, EU regulations, and investments in digitalization.
Chemicals is the industry of industries. It accounts for 7% of European industry and provides more than one million direct jobs. If we include indirect employment, the number is three to five times higher.
