These are used in many industrial processes, ranging from food and beverage manufacturing to producing extremely pure water for high technology industries.

Siemens has supplied resin services for more than 80 years. The company is the largest user and supplier of ion exchange resin in North America and one of the biggest distributors of resins in the world. Siemens offers ion exchange resin regeneration, processing, removal, replacement and testing. Siemens’ support enables industrial customers to maintain their ion exchange systems over the long term and to keep them operating at peak performance while also minimizing any impact on the environment.

For food and beverage and biopharmaceutical manufacturers, Siemens offers customized high-purity resin processing that meets Federal Drug Administration (FDA) requirements. Siemens is also a major recycler of ion exchange resin. In 2010, Siemens recycled more than 2.5 million pounds (around 1.1 million kilos) of ion exchange resin, which minimized waste by recovering metal and allowing the resin to be reused.

Besides our resin, carbon, media and membrane services, we offer temporary and mobile water treatment. When customers require an emergency or temporary supply of treated water during periods of drought or while their capital equipment is being installed and started up or taken off-line for routine maintenance, Siemens can dispatch a mobile treatment trailer to the customer’s site. Siemens guarantees the quality and quantity of water produced, providing peace of mind.

Our preventative maintenance agreements and service contracts are tailored to help customers get the most value from their water treatment equipment investment. We offer services such as re-bedding filters or ion exchange tanks, cleaning reverse osmosis membranes and replacing normal wear-and-tear items such as pump seals, UV bulbs and cartridge filter elements. A customized contract allows customers to decide the level and frequency that is best for their facility.
