IQ•SPECT is an option to Siemens Symbia S and Symbia T Series general purpose imaging systems that provides an intelligent solution for reducing acquisition time for myocardial perfusion SPECT studies.
Myocardial perfusion SPECT is the most commonly performed nuclear medicine procedure, accounting for one-third of all nuclear medicine studies on a worldwide basis. A typical myocardial perfusion scan with conventional SPECT imaging technology is a 16-minute acquisition. IQ•SPECT uses three key technologies; focusing collimation, a cardio-centric camera orbit, and advanced reconstruction to reduce myocardial perfusion SPECT scan time by about a factor of four to four minutes. The full clinical workflow including patient setup, data acquisition, and image reconstruction, has been designed to be fast and efficient as well. Images created with the IQ•SPECT are compatible with standard cardiac quantification analysis packages.
Based on the reduced scan time, Symbia S and Symbia T Series imaging systems with IQ•SPECT realize considerable reduction in energy use per patient compared to the baseline technology.
