The AXIOM Luminos dRF fluoroscopy system has been part of our environmental portfolio since 2010. It combines fluoroscopic and radiographic applications in one device to ensure high utilization rates in cases where the volume of fluorographic examinations does not exhaust system capacity. In many cases, a separate radiography system is no longer necessary, and only one room is needed instead of two.
AXIOM Luminos dRF offers both the patient and the staff a very high level of comfort, beginning with positioning the patient. The table features programmed patient transfer positions and can be lowered to knee height to ensure that even very short, overweight, aged or disabled patients can sit and lie down on it easily. Certain types of X-rays even allow the patient to remain seated in a wheelchair. The system’s open architecture means easy access to the patient from all sides – an advantage during longer examinations. The tube and the table can be moved quite a distance, both lengthwise and from side to side, so that in most cases patients do not have to be repositioned during examination.
The AXIOM Luminos dRF has a digital flat detector measuring 43 cm x 43 cm that combines both static and dynamic imaging and delivers detailed, distortion-free clinical images. The system's radiography function produces two-dimensional static X-rays. In fluoroscopy mode, on the other hand, it screens the body over a period of time in order to document dynamic processes, which can be very useful, for example, for gastro-intestinal examinations.
If a combination of fluoroscopy and radiography is necessary, the patient does not have to change rooms; interruptions and delays are reduced and work processes can be accelerated. The result is reduced examination times, higher patient throughputs and shorter waiting times for patients than with the use of two separate devices. The flexible application options of a combination system also offer an economic benefit: idle time is avoided and the device can be utilized optimally.
In comparison with the same utilization of an AXIOM Iconos R200, the AXIOM Luminos dRF enables energy savings of approximately 38 percent. And because the AXIOM Luminos dRF is digital, film cassettes are no longer needed; examination results are available much more quickly than before. Special CARE applications (Combined Applications for Reduced Exposure) help the operator work with reduced X-ray doses.
One single system for dual utilization
Large flat detector with excellent coverage for a wide array of applications
Flexible table height adjustment starting at a low 48 cm
2-in-1 system: radiography and fluoroscopy
Maximum utilization, idle time is nearly eliminated
Only one system to maintain
CARE applications mean reduced X-ray dose
Table can be lowered to just 48 cm in height
Energy savings of approximately 38 percent (compared with the AXIOM Iconos R200)
Digital image processing means that the development of X-ray film and the resources required for this are no longer necessary.
Saves on space and resources: radiography and fluoroscopy can be combined in one room.
