The ACUSON P10TM ultrasound system is the world’s first pocket ultrasound device – a handheld diagnostic and screening tool designed for physicians, nurses, emergency medical technicians, EMTs and clinical professionals. It weighs only 1.6 pounds (0.725 kg), a fraction of the mass of a full-sized ultrasound device, and yet it provides high quality images. Environmental benefits besides the small mass of the device and its packaging include modular design for easy dismantling and a high percentage of recyclable parts. The ACUSON P10 system has no mercury in its flat panel display or keypad. It uses a removable, rechargeable lithium battery, which when coupled with its instant power-up, low power consumption during imaging, battery saving display power management, and fast power-down, results in a very energy efficient device.
