In fiscal 2012, products and solutions in our Environmental Portfolio generated revenue of €33.2 billion, and helped our customers to reduce 332 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
With our Environmental Portfolio, we aim to drive our growth by helping customers to reduce their carbon dioxide emissions, bring down their energy costs and enhance their business success through greater productivity.
In fiscal 2012, revenues from continuing operations from the Environmental Portfolio amounted to €33.2 billion, up from comparable revenues of €30.2 billion in the previous fiscal year. Therefore, our Environmental Portfolio accounted for 42% of our revenues from continuing operations in fiscal 2012. With our base of Environmental Portfolio products and solutions deployed since 2002, we also helped customers to reduce their annual carbon dioxide emissions by around 332 million tons in 2012.
The Environmental Report 2012 describes the methodology we use to calculate the revenue and the reduction in carbon dioxide emissions attributable to our Environmental Portfolio. In addition, the Report includes the results of a review which we commissioned an independent auditing firm to perform. This review quantifies the total amount of revenue generated by the Environmental Portfolio and the amount of carbon dioxide abatement for which the products and solutions included in the Portfolio account.
