This saves time and money and is a way of making the knowledge of an integrated technology company available to everyone.
Erich Schmid is one of the twelve "Inventors of the Year 2012" award winners. He developed operating procedures to rapidly increase electricity production at combined cycle power plants (CCPP).
We expect further improvements in our innovative strength from initiatives such as the "Inventor of the Year" award, awards for strengthening the Company’s innovation culture, and the innovation workshop.
Our most prestigious technical award, "Inventor of the Year", is presented annually to outstanding Siemens inventors whose inventions are of major technical and economic significance for the Company. In December 2012, we honored twelve outstanding Siemens inventors, who together accounted for 613 invention reports and 734 granted patents. At the Siemens Business Conference we award prizes for top-flight Siemens innovators and the Innovation Award for outstanding achievement by teams. Since teams often come up with better results than individuals, Corporate Technology supports various forms of innovation workshops. They help to expand our patent portfolio, develop new products and solve technical problems.
