Siemens research plays a major role in its great success: solutions that help develop that portfolio further are a focal point of our research work. Some of the topics that concern us here are enhancing efficiency in renewable and conventional power generation, expanding intelligent power grids ("Smart Grids"), using energy efficiently in buildings and industrial plants, and networking various means of transportation intelligently with the aid of traffic management systems.
