The ability to successfully balance work, family and career has increasingly become a crucial factor when it comes to retaining employees and attracting potential employees. At many of our locations worldwide we therefore help our employees to do so with a wide range of measures.
In Germany these include, among other things, flexible work time models and the option of part-time work or telecommuting. At the same time Siemens is expanding the availability of childcare near the company – such as in nurseries, daycare centers and after-school centers – taking local conditions into account. Offering around 1.100 childcare spaces, Siemens is already among the leading large corporations in Germany in this respect and is expanding these facilities. In addition, we are involved in organizing school vacation programs. We also offer tax-free childcare allowances; the amount of this voluntary social payment is subject to an annual decision. On top of that we provide a brokerage service throughout Germany for supplementary childcare as well as for dependents requiring care.
The SieKids daycare center at the Jürgen-Schmieder-Haus in Munich is a good example of childcare at Siemens close to the company.
