List of projects funded in the first funding round:
Over 300 project proposals from more than 66 countries were submitted for the first funding round. The reaction to the call for proposals exceeded expectations by far regarding number, quality and relevance of applications.
The World Bank has audit rights over the use of the funds and veto rights over the selection of anti-corruption groups or programs receiving funds. The selection was based on published selection criteria and with a view to achieving a balance with respect to the topics, a balance between large and small organizations and the regional distribution of the funds.
