The project aims to reduce vulnerabilities to corruption in public procurement systems and to bridge knowledge and communication gaps between public procurement administrations and the private sector.

In its resolution 58/4 of October 31, 2003, the UN General Assembly adopted the UN Convention against Corruption. The Convention entered into force on December 14, 2005 and to date has been ratified by 150 Member States and the European Union. A Conference of the States Parties has been established by the Convention to promote and review its implementation. UNODC is the guardian of the Convention and the Secretariat of the Conference of the States Parties. The Convention is the legal instrument underlying the UN Global Compact’s Tenth Principle against Corruption.
