The Managing Board of Siemens AG has resolved to delist the ordinary shares of Siemens from the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and from the Swiss Stock Exchange (SIX Swiss Exchange AG / SIX).

Siemens Healthcare plans to divest its hospital information system business (HS) for US$ 1.3 billion (around €963 million) in cash to the US-based company Cerner Corp. The HS business is focused on administrative hospital IT and electronic patient records, thus different from information technology that enhances the capabilities of imaging modalities and laboratory equipment.

In the third quarter of fiscal 2014, Siemens posted strong results in most areas, which were affected by challenges in the Energy Sector. Net income rose to €1.4 billion, from €1.1 billion in the prior-year-period. Corresponding earnings per share increased to €1.62 year-over-year from €1.27. Total Sectors profit rose to €1.7 billion, but was held back by ongoing profitability challenges within the Energy Sector. For comparison, Total Sectors profit of €1.3 billion one year earlier had been burdened by €418 million in "Siemens 2014" charges.

At its meeting yesterday, Erlangen City Council approved a decision of principle giving the go-ahead for an architectural design competition for the new Siemens Campus in Erlangen. This marked a further milestone for the project, which is important not only to the city but to the entire metropolitan region of Erlangen / Nuremberg.

The reconstruction work on the interior of the Ludwig Ferdinand Palais, a registered historic building at Wittelsbacherplatz in Munich, has now reached the halfway mark. Siemens developed the remodeling plans in close cooperation with Bavaria's Office for the Preservation of Historic Places. In 2013, the City of Munich granted a building permit for the project.

Siemens' central research department and the electric vehicle manufacturer StreetScooter agreed today to equip an electric car with an innovative electronic and software architecture. The associated technology was developed during the RACE project. Siemens is the consortium leader of the research project, which receives funding from the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy. For the first time ever, the architecture will make it possible to retrofit functions such as electrical brakes and systems such as lane-keeping assistants using a plug-and-play process like on home PCs.

Olaf Bolduan (61), Chairman of the Works Council at the Dynamowerk Berlin, has been appointed by the Charlottenburg District Court (Berlin) as an employee representative on the Supervisory Board. Bolduan was proposed by the Central Works Council and the Assembly of Delegates of IG Metall to succeed Lothar Adler, who retired at the end of May 2014 and accordingly left the Supervisory Board.
