Specifically designed for CCTV applications, the new Siemens CMTC2315 video monitor provides crisp, clear pictures from almost any video source. Part of the comprehensive Siemens range of full HD CCTV products, it is ideally suited for use with the latest HD digital video recorders but it also delivers remarkably detailed pictures when used with conventional analog video sources.
The new monitor from the Security Products business segment features a 23-inch diagonal 16:9 format screen and has a native resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, allowing it to display full HD (1080p) pictures at maximum quality. The screen uses the latest LED backlight technology, which reduces energy by around 30 percent compared with older flat panel monitors, thereby delivering significant savings in operating costs.
A high contrast ratio of 1000:1 and an exceptionally wide viewing angle of 160º horizontal and vertical ensure that the monitor is comfortable to use and help to minimize operator fatigue. Picture-in-picture, picture-by-picture and video-on-video capabilities further increase its versatility, particularly in security applications where it is often useful to view multiple video streams simultaneously.
To ensure the widest possible compatibility with both new and legacy CCTV systems, the monitor provides one HDMI input for use with high definition sources, one computer-compatible DVI input and two BNC analog inputs with loop-through outputs. A 3D comb filter and automatic de-interlacing are used to enhance pictures from analog sources, which are displayed at a high resolution of 600 TV lines. The monitor also has two audio inputs and outputs as well as built-in speakers.
To facilitate setup, the Siemens CMTC2315 video monitor is supplied with a convenient IR remote control unit, and it offers a clear, straightforward on-screen display (OSD) of key operating parameters in a choice of seven languages. In addition, control buttons are provided on the monitor itself. They can be password- protected to prevent tampering by unauthorized persons.
