Sparkasse Vest Recklinghausen (Vest Recklinghausen Savings Bank) has renewed its partnership with Siemens IT Solutions and Services for another year. The IT service provider will digitize another 1.5 million pages of credit files and other contract documents of the bank. The electronic files have a uniform structure and are archived in a central database so that employees can access them quickly and at any time. Outsourcing this job to Siemens also relieves the bank’s employees from administrative work so that they can spend more time with their customers.
Siemens IT Solutions and Services has been turning paper-based documents into electronic files for Sparkasse Vest Recklinghausen for over ten years. By hiring Siemens, the bank does not have to use its own people for this job, but can exploit its service provider’s resources as and when needed.
The services provided by Siemens IT Solutions and Services include the digitization of documents from current transactions and from the bank’s archives. To accomplish this job, Siemens has to handle paper formats ranging from DIN A0 to cash register receipts and assign them to 120 different document types, while complying with the highest security and quality standards as well as special banking regulations. The bank receives the digitized documents on encrypted media and sends them electronically to the OSPlus archiving system of Finanz Informatik, the IT service provider of the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe headquartered in Frankfurt.
