Industry Sector / Industry Solutions Division
Erlangen, Germany, 2010-Mar-16
The Siemens Divisions Industry Solutions and Building Technologies have joined forces for worldwide sales and exchange of expertise in the area of energy optimization solutions. The goal is to offer from a single source holistic solutions to increase the energy efficiency of industrial plants and buildings.
“We want to set new standards for environmental compatibility by establishing the highest efficiency standards for industrial facilities and buildings,” explained Jens Wegmann, CEO of Industry Solutions, at a press conference in the run up to the 2010 Hannover Messe. With a joint energy optimization program, Industry Solutions and Building Technologies wants to lower energy use in buildings and production facilities for the long term so that they can be run more economically. Both Divisions have many years of experience in implementing projects to improve energy efficiency. The focus of Building Technologies is on the energy used by buildings themselves; Industry Solutions concentrates on servicing and modernizing production facilities.
The joint energy optimization program begins with an Energy Health Check of the production facilities or buildings. Based on an analysis of the findings, concrete measures for savings are identified and implemented by Siemens. Performance contracting ensures that the agreed-upon savings targets are reached. The concept undergoes continual development in order to adapt to constantly changing requirements in the industrial sector.
