As the first large German company to do so, in 2010 Siemens entered into a strategic partnership with the initiators of the future innovation city of Skolkovo near Moscow. It will be a city of science in which researchers from around the world in the future will dedicate themselves to topics such as energy efficiency, materials science, software development, and other innovative application fields. In this innovation city, Siemens not only wants to develop new technologies in its own research and development center with up to 150 scientists, but also would like to help make the city itself a model of energy efficiency.
