People are living longer and want to remain mobile in old age. From a medical point of view, improved diagnostic and operation techniques as well as implants can make a major contribution to this. The requirements in the implant field are consequently constantly rising. Medical technology manufacturers can only solve this problem with high-tech technologies.
Artificial knee and hip joints, bone plates and screws must be machined with the highest precision to achieve perfect surfaces. Manufacturers are relying on sophisticated materials like titanium and cobalt chrome, as they are very durable. The challenge is to manufacture and machine sophisticated forms in a short time from these difficult materials with intelligent CNC technology (e.g. turning, plain turning, milling, grinding...).
