Aug 06, 2010 | Siemens Healthcare launched the 1.5 release of its Acuson SC2000 volume imaging ultrasound system, which supports all needs of cardiography exams – from 2D to full-volume images. It provides new applications optimizing the cardiologists’ workflow. These are especially the software-solutions eSie Measure and eSie Scan. As the first manufacturer of medical technology Siemens developed a software-package, which provides fully automated measurements for routine echocardiography exams and leads to time savings during the medical examination. The achieved results are more precise than from manual measurements.

The technology drives the imaging power of the 4Z1, 4V1 and the V5M transducer. Expanding its application versatility, the Acuson SC2000 system now features a new 5 MHz transesophageal probe, which is interchangeable with other Siemens ultrasound platforms to ensure maximum return on investment.

In the system integrated is the Siemens’ Echo in a Heartbeat technology (picture) which offers real-time full-volume imaging of the heart – not only acquired slice-by-slice and then combined by the computer. Echo in a Heartbeat technology delivers vastly more diagnostic information than today’s conventional echocardiography systems.
