The Siemens Industry Automation Division has equipped two of its software packages for process automation with new functions. In its new Version 7.0, the Simatic PDM Process Device Manager offers a redesigned user interface with more user-friendly operation, updated and supplemented device descriptions, as well as the integration of additional libraries and field devices. For example, Simatic PDM – in combination with the Simatic PCS 7 process control system V7.1 SP2 or higher – now allows parameterization of Foundation Fieldbus (FF) devices that are connected to the foundation fieldbus of the process control system.
