The Siemens Industry Automation Division has brought onto the market a simple lock-and-release plug-in connector for space-saving LC (local connector) connection of fiber-optic cables. The LC connector according to IEC 61754-20 features an innovative "push-pull" release mechanism for easy installation of FO cables in network components with LC sockets, for example the modular Industrial Ethernet Switches X308-2M, XR-300 and X-300EEC from Siemens.
