From June 16, 2011 machine builders are only permitted to use high-efficiency motors with a minimum efficiency class of IE2. The new EU Directive 2005/32/EC is applicable to low-voltage asynchronous motors of 0.75 to 375 kW. Due to the lower power consumption, carbon-dioxide emissions and operating costs are reduced. Siemens supplies all the motor series that are affected by this legislation and can provide support with changeover.
