The Sitrans P DSIII digital pressure transducer is the first Profibus-PA device available on the market that is suitable for SIL2 safety shutdown in accordance with IEC 61508/IEC 61511-1. To this purpose, Siemens A&D has added a Profisafe driver to the standard measuring device for pressure, absolute pressure, differential pressure, flow and level. This allows failsafe transfer of pressure transducer's measured values via Profibus for the first time.
