Siemens AG is to acquire a minority stake in EMIS Electrics GmbH (EMIS) headquartered in Lübbenau in the state of Brandenburg. The Federal Cartel Office as the responsible supervisory authority has already approved the acquisition. "EMIS has for many years been a reliable partner for Siemens in the fields of installation and cabinet production for power plant projects.
Strategic investment in long-term partner in power plant project execution
The minority stake will raise our cooperation to a new level. In the future, too, we'll be continuing our cooperation with ENIS for new-build and power plant modernization projects," said Karlheinz Springer, CEO of the Instrumentation, Controls & Electrical Business Unit within the Fossil Power Generation Division of Siemens Energy.
"The Siemens investment will contribute toward strengthening our successful organic growth. That will include above all the expansion of the power-plant-related business areas service, cabinet production and automation equipment on the German and in particular on the Eastern European market. There, EMIS will continue to be a reliable and trustworthy provider for all of its business partners," said Eberhard Perschk, Managing Director of EMIS Electrics GmbH.
