Offshore wind energy has huge potential based on strong and stable wind conditions. The United Kingdom, Denmark and Germany in particular are counting on the future of offshore wind energy. At present, construction is underway of the world's largest offshore wind power plant: London Array. Siemens is supplying 175 wind turbines and is responsible for the grid access of London Array. In addition, Siemens will provide a warranty and five year turbine service contract. Once completed, the project will have a capacity of 630 megawatts, which is sufficient to provide power to more than 470,000 homes.
