Siemens press conference at the SPS/IPC/Drives Fair 2011

Siemens will be exhibiting at the SPS/IPC/ Drives 2011 under the heading "Create sustainable value". The Industry Automation and Drive Technologies Divisions will be setting out their strategies and innovations on November 22, 2011 at the Siemens Press Conference due to be staged in the Congress Center Nuremberg East (CCN East).

Siemens showcases extensions to TIA Portal and the Simotics motor family

At the SPS/IPC/Drives trade fair, Siemens showcased the latest extension to its TIA (Totally Integrated Automation) Portal and unveiled the new name of its full motor range which will be called "Simotics" from now on. In advancing its automation and drives portfolio, Siemens is placing the emphasis on IT integration, stated Ralf-Michael Franke, CEO of the Drive Technologies Division: "Productivity gains for our customers in plant engineering and operation today are achieved essentially as a result of IT-based interlinking between control and drive components. Simotics motors play a significant role in integrated drive train applications and form a part of our TIA portfolio, allowing customers from all industries to efficiently combine the Simotics family with our automation and service technologies."
