Ghada Trotabas dares to ask.
At Siemens, her career has taken her in directions she never expected.
If you’re looking for the global face of Siemens, look no further than Ghada Trotabas. She was born and raised in Lebanon, studied engineering in Paris and earned her Ph.D. in Darmstadt, Germany. She then started working in the research and development department of Siemens Healthcare in Chicago and, at the same time, earned an MBA at Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management.
With her business degree in hand, Ghada swapped her lab coat for business clothes, first joining product management at Siemens Healthcare, then moving to strategic planning for molecular imaging. Today, she is the head of strategic planning for Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics in Tarrytown, New York.

“My whole career path at Siemens has been a story of change,” she says. “And I’ve always had the support to move ahead and do the things I want to do.
One career, different tasks
Being open-minded and curious, adapting to new tasks is easy for her. “I find it very attractive that your job is always different: different people, different topics, different geographical focuses,” she says.
In the last couple of months, for example, she has been busy with healthcare projects in emerging countries, which took her to Brazil, India, and China. No wonder Ghada already knows her next destination: she will soon become the head of divisional projects at Siemens Healthcare.
