During my job search at the end of my MBA, four criteria guided my applications. I was looking for a very international company, technologically driven, that would provide me with a steep learning curve and a good exposure to top management. I attended the presentation given at INSEAD by the FEP team and had the opportunity to discuss the nature of the assignments with them. I was quickly convinced that the level of responsibilities was pretty high from the beginning, that the projects were challenging, and that the program gave participants a broad view of the Siemens business spectrum.
Before my family and I moved to Germany, the Siemens Relocation Team helped us with all the administrative and material issues (accommodation, work permit, kindergarten, taxes, bank accounts…). Thanks to this support, our adaptation to living in Germany was easier and we settled down very smoothly.
One of my assignments was within the Business Administration team of the Computed Tomography business unit in Forchheim. This experience was very enriching because it gave me the chance to work on very diverse projects. I was responsible for the strategic and operative price management of the Latin American and South East Asian clusters. Every day I was working with Sales to ensure the highest level of competitiveness of the offers we were extending to our customers. At the same time, I was deeply involved in the design of the strategic plan for the next six years. I also interacted with Supply Chain Management on a project aimed at reducing the complexity of our processes.
Working for Siemens means working for a world leader, a company that tries every single day to exceed its customers’ expectations and to cultivate tomorrow’s markets. Excellence is a key word at Siemens. Everyone strives to use and develop state-of-the-art business processes. Collaboration is also very important. During my first assignment, I worked fluently with Finance, Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing.
If learning and being stimulated is your motto, if you have high expectations of your career, if you consider that engineers and business people are useless without each other, if you want to devote your energy to addressing the toughest challenges the world is currently facing – do not hesitate. You will love the Finance Excellence Program.
