During the two-year program, you’ll be taking part in three demanding work assignments, each lasting eight months. Experience has shown that this timeframe offers participants deepest possible insight into our company and the interesting tasks being performed. The program’s highlight is no doubt the assignment abroad, which you’ll be completing at one of our nearly 1,700 worldwide business locations.
You and your mentor will jointly decide what your personal program will look like, based on your qualifications and personal interests as well as our business requirements. One thing is certain: We will be supporting you throughout the entire program, while also helping you to coordinate your assignments.
During your rotations, you will be working in at least two different functional areas, such as engineering, product management, procurement or sales, just to name a few. While there, you will be involved in day-to-day business and project-related duties.
In preparing you for your future management role, we will be presenting you with a variety of demanding tasks, which you will be required to solve independently in your assignments at home. You’ll soon get to know our day-to-day business from various perspectives while at the same time gaining extensive experience at different Siemens business. You’ll also find yourself being confronted with a range of different cultures. These experiences will help you to learn how to best deal with various intercultural situations. Finally, during your assignment abroad you’ll also find out how Siemens successfully promotes international business collaboration. And who knows? You may even learn a new language, thereby rounding off your international Siemens experience.
The SGP is not just about completing challenging assignments. We will also concern ourselves with your personal and professional development. We’ll be supporting you with a variety of demanding training measures in the area of personality development and management, with topics that range from communication and leadership to the basics of project management and much more.
A personal mentor will be at your side for the duration of the program, ensuring that you are able to fully develop your potential. He or she will help you to improve your personal and management skills. You’ll also receive valuable advice on the best possible career start as well as assistance in the targeted planning of your assignments.
It is important to us that you get to know the other program participants and that you exchange experiences with them. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to do so, e.g., at annual conferences with fellow SGP participants from around the world, by way of your training program, through cooperations within cross-Sector sub teams, and via the international alumni community. Thanks to these networking opportunities, you’ll be able to set up and then continuously expand your personal and global Siemens network.
The SGP targets ambitious university graduates aiming for a subsequent career in management. You have completed your master or diploma studies with above-average grades or possibly expanded your specialist knowledge with a doctoral degree. You should have finished your studies either within the last year or, alternatively, you’ll do so in the next few months. And you’ll already have gained some work experience.
When joining the Siemens Graduate Program you’ll receive a standard work contract corresponding to the conditions and stipulations of the labor laws of the respective country.
