Tao Wang is the Section Manager of Factory Automation. He reports on the important aspects he learned in his participation in the SGP and how they have positively impacted his career.
During my years of working in the area of industrial process control, I had been inspired by quite a number of successful developments of new theories, new applications in industry automation. On the basis of the new technical skills and knowledge I have acquired in the process of working, I began to ask myself some questions, such as:How can we understand the process of product-lifecycle management? How do our colleagues take on these kinds of challenges in other countries? Then I found out that the SGP is a perfect platform for me to ask my questions.
When I look at this recent history, I would say that it has helped me pursue my career development goal very well. Thanks to this, I have established the deep impression about how people act against different culture backgrounds. Moreover, if you let me make a comparison, a company such as Siemens is just like a machine, every tiny part has been planned precisely, and joggled exactly to fit the way it was designed to. Not one part would be able to run without cooperation of others, and if every part in this mechanism follows its specific role and regulation, then the whole machine will function perfectly. Only if you have the chance for job rotation can you understand this system deep down inside.
I was appointed Team Leader of product management when I finished my SGP career.
I am the Section Manager of FA (Factory Automation) product management, responsible for product pricing, pricing, and position, as well as marketing & promotion. It means not only implementing the strategy of existing products, but also finding an innovative way for the future.
Yes, it is quite a close community. I really appreciate this networking for giving me so much advice and help.
First of all, the diversity of culture integration: it helps you understand the same issue from different perspectives, and secondly, the experience helps you to encourage your team members to be more open and motivated.
