The Dubai representative office is founded.

Electro Mechanical Co., Abu Dhabi, is authorized to represent the interests of Siemens AG, but not as sole agent.

Siemens AG’s agency in Dubai is renamed Scientechnic.
1976
Switchgear and transformers, including the requisite buildings, are supplied to the UAE. An earth satellite station is set up in Ras Al-Khaimah.
1977
A master agreement is signed for the supply of electronic teletypewriters.
1978
Orders are received for high-voltage switchgear for the Emirate Abu Dhabi and a transformer substation for the international airport.
1991
A major order for the gas turbine power plant Jebel Ali “G” in Dubai, which is linked to a seawater desalination plant, is awarded to an international consortium under the direction of Siemens.
1998
Siemens and its consortium partners receive an order for the 710 MW combined-cycle power plant Al Taweelah 2 and seawater desalination facility from the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA) and the U.S. CMS Energy Corp.; Al Taweelah 2 is the first independent power project in the Gulf Region.

A Siemens Limited Liability Company (L.L.C.) is founded with offices in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
2001
Siemens Power Generation wins large order to build world’s most powerful power generation and seawater desalination facility at Shuweihat in Abu Dhabi.
2005
Siemens lands order from the Dubai Airport Expansion to supply low voltage switchgear assemblies. This is the group’s largest contract in the region as well as the largest order for low voltage switchgear assemblies for Siemens globally.
2006
Siemens builds one of the world’s most sophisticated police Command and Control Centre for Dubai Police.
2007
Siemens wins the contract to build the region’s first molecular imaging center for Mubadala Development.
