Construction of two hydroelectric power plants: the Wardack plant, which supplies electricity for Kabul, and the Pul-i-Ghomri plant, which powers a textile factory.

A sales company with the same name is opened in Kabul.
1957
The Sarobi hydroelectric power station, built from 1954 to 1957 by a consortium including SSW and Siemens-Bauunion, goes into operation.
1962
His Excellency Attik Rafiq, brother-in-law of the Afghan king, acquires a stake in Siemens Afghanistan Ltd., strengthening the position of Siemens Kabul in the eyes of Afghan authorities.
1969
Siemens Afghanistan Ltd. is converted into a base.
1977
Siemens Afghanistan Ltd. Is closed. Afghan Electrical Engineering and Equipment Ltd. is founded to represent Siemens AG in Afghanistan.
