The Lower Gulf Region comprising the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, and Yemen. Investment in the development of the entire infrastructure is clearly a priority in the countries of the Lower Gulf Region, which are highly motivated to modernize and to invest in all the business sectors in which Siemens is active.
At present, Siemens has around 2,290 employees of over 60 different nationalities working in the Lower Gulf Region. There were 500 new hires in fiscal 2011.
Siemens has been active in the region for more than 150 years, and is highly committed to the social and economic progress of the region. Siemens LLC (UAE) was founded in October 1999 to oversee Siemens’ activities in the Lower Gulf.
In October 2011, Siemens WLL in Bahrain officially launched a Middle East Service Center for Metallurgical Services for the Middle East’s steel and aluminum industry, based at the Bahrain International Investment Park at Salman International City. The Service Center handles the manufacturing and repair of parts and will increase component lifetime and reduce the costly and time-consuming import of spare parts from Europe and South Asia.
