Siemens has been active in Usbekistan since 1891 supplying the telegraph equipment to the Central Asian Railway company. The Company's Industry Sector in Uzbekistan is represented by the Industry Automation and Drive Technologies Divisions. Its key customers include large industrial enterprises like Uzbek Metallurgical, Kuvasaycement and Navoi Mining. Siemens actively cooperated with our Russian partners to serve the Uzbek market and participated in the tenders for the modernization of the Uzbek metallurgical plant in Bekabad.
In fiscal 2012 (October 1, 2011 – September 30, 2012), sales to customers in Uzbekistan amounted to EUR 3.2 million and new orders totaled EUR 39.24 million.
Siemens has been active in Uzbekistan since 1891. In 1904, the first telephone system with 200 lines was constructed in Tashkent, with Siemens’ participation. A new chapter of the Company’s history in Uzbekistan began in 1995 with the opening of the Representative Office in Tashkent. Since 2009, Siemens in Uzbekistan has operated as a Representative Office of Siemens LLC, Russia.
Siemens’ Energy Sector is represented by the Fossil Power Generation Division, Oil & Gas Division and Power Transmission Division. In 2012, Siemens scored major successes in the Oil & Gas Division, supplying three gas turbine generators, with a total value of EUR 36 million, for the Surgil project. Siemens also delivered six 110-kV circuit breakers for the Tuyamuyun substation and supported the order placement for spare parts of the automated management system for a 800-MW block in the Talimardjan power plant (TPP).
