Siemens in Ukraine strengthened its position as the leading supplier of metallurgy systems. In 2011, Siemens won several contracts for major national projects for the development of Ukrainian infrastructure in preparation for EURO-2012. Siemens offers a wide range of solutions and services in Ukraine, where its Industry, Energy and Healthcare Sectors occupy leading positions. In fiscal 2011, Siemens in Ukraine scored major successes in all three Sectors.
In fiscal 2011 (October 1, 2010 – September 30, 2011), Siemens’ sales to customers in Ukraine amounted to almost EUR 97.5 million and new orders totaled nearly EUR 78.1 million. Siemens currently has about 300 employees in Ukraine.
Business relations between Ukraine and Siemens date back to the company’s earliest days. In 1855, Siemens established its first engineering offices in Kyiv and Odesa to service this network. A new page of Siemens history in Ukraine was opened after Ukraine’s independence. In 1992, the company established its first representative office in Ukraine.
Siemens concluded the supply and putting into operation of a continuous casting machine with ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine’s major integrated metallurgical enterprises. The company also accomplished supply of electrical equipment for two skip mine winders for Berezovskiy mining plant (Belaruskaliy mining association) being constructed in Soligorsk, Belarus. Furthermore, works on engineering, design of electrical equipment for two cage mine winders for Berezovskiy mining plant are under way. Siemens continued delivering high-voltage equipment for Ukraine’s transmission system operator Ukrenergo as well as for regional distribution companies.
