In fiscal 2012 (October 1, 2011 – September 30, 2012), Siemens’ sales to customers in Ukraine amounted to EUR 122.6 million and new orders totaled almost EUR 138.9 million.
Siemens currently has about 280 employees in Ukraine. In 1992, Siemens in Ukraine launched the Science to Business (S2B) program to invest in technical education at the university level. Since 1996, Siemens – in cooperation with the Children of Chernobyl Fund established by the Land of Lower Saxony – has installed over 140 ultrasound systems in Ukrainian hospitals.

Business relations between Ukraine and Siemens date back to 1855 when Siemens established its first engineering offices in Kiev and Odesa. In 1992, the Company opened its first representative office in Ukraine. Today, Siemens Ukraine is a subsidiary of Siemens with 100 percent foreign investment. Sustainability is a key part of the Company’s business strategy.

In 2012, Siemens participated in a number of projects related to the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship. At Kiev’s Zhuliany Airport, Siemens installed building automation equipment and equipped the power distribution system of the airport’s terminal with low-voltage switchgear and bus wires. Siemens also supplied detectors, building automation and building management systems for the Olimpiysky Stadium in Kiev. The Company installed a centralized alarm management system at the Arena Lviv soccer stadium. Siemens also equipped the Hilton Hotel in Kiev and the Victoria Hotel in Donetsk with building management systems.
