In fiscal 2011 (October 1, 2010 – September 30, 2011), sales to customers in Taiwan amounted to EUR 436.07 million. New orders totaled EUR 350.71 million. Siemens currently has about 530 employees in Taiwan.
Siemens’ activities in Taiwan date back to 1955. In 1970, the company opened a representative office in Taiwan and established a Regional Company, Siemens Ltd. Taiwan, in 1989. Siemens in Taiwan has strengthened its efforts in the area of environmental corporate social responsibility. By 2011, participation in the company’s enjoyable solar-powered car assemblage and racing activities had taught more than 1,500 primary school students the importance of renewable energy.
