Siemens has been active in Serbia for more than 125 years. Siemens’ large drives plant in Subotica, a producer of wind turbine generators, is playing a significant role in the development of the local economy. Thanks to its specific production portfolio, the plant has earned Siemens in Serbia a respected place among the country’s top ten exporters.
In fiscal 2012 (October 1, 2011 – September 30, 2012), Siemens’ sales to customers in Serbia amounted to more than EUR 90 million and new orders totaled almost EUR 75 million.
Siemens currently has around 670 employees in Serbia.

Siemens’ large drives plant in Subotica is the most important producer of wind turbine generators in the region. Every month, the plant’s 500 Siemens employees produce around 150 wind turbine generators. Siemens plans to produce more than 300 generators per month and expand the plant’s workforce to 650 employees by 2014.
