Since 2007, Siemens has delivered 249 metro trains in Oslo, and holds contracts to deliver a further 96 trains. Total value of the contracts is EUR 625 million. Siemens is the market leader for wind power in Norway, having a market share of about 60 percent.
In fiscal 2011 (October 1, 2010 – September 30, 2011), Siemens’ sales to customers in Norway amounted to EUR 612.9 million and new orders totaled EUR 821.3 million. Siemens currently has about 1,727 employees in Norway.
The company has been active in the country since 1898.
Siemens continued to solidify its position as one of the leading suppliers of innovative health equipment in Norway by installing yet another positron emission tomography /computed tomography (PET/CT) at Oslo University Hospital, Ullevål. Siemens in Norway now has a 100 percent market share when it comes to this technology.
