The Siemens office in Kosovo opened in 1999 in the capitol city of Prishtina. As one of the first foreign companies to set up operations in the country, Siemens established a relationship of trust early on. Since the beginning, Siemens has mainly focused on the energy business – based on the fact that Kosovo’s power infrastructure needs major modernization. As the overall market has developed, the Siemens office has expanded its activities into other areas as well, including healthcare and industry.

For Siemens Kosovo, energy is the primary area of business. The total value of all Siemens projects in Kosovo was EUR 78 million – and the Energy Sector’s share of that was EUR 68 million. Construction of power substations comprised the major projects – among these, the most significant is Ferizaj II 400 kV/110 kV, with a value of EUR 13.5 million.
