Siemens leads the energy market in Israel, with more than 30 percent of the country’s electricity supply produced using Siemens turbines. Between 2008 and 2011, Siemens invested more than EUR 300 million and has strengthened its position in Israel’s renewable energy market by acquiring a 37 percent equity ($15 million) in Arava Power Company, a local developer of photovoltaic power plants.
In fiscal 2011 (October 1, 2010 – September 30, 2011), Siemens’ sales to customers in Israel amounted to EUR 173.2 million and new orders totaled EUR 325.7 million. Siemens currently employs more than 830 people in Israel.
Siemens has been present in Israel for more than 85 years. The Israeli subsidiary of Siemens AG was established in 2000 with headquarters in Rosh Ha'ayin. Since then, Siemens has been involved in the country's most strategic infrastructure projects in the fields of energy, industry and healthcare, as well as in procurement and investment activities exceeding €1 billion.
