Siemens has been active in Israel for more than 85 years. The Company has conducted procurement and investment activities exceeding EUR 1 billion. Siemens leads the energy market in Israel, with Siemens turbines producing more than 30 percent of the country’s electricity supply. Siemens Israel designed and constructed the first 5-MW photovoltaic solar field for the Ketura kibbutz in the southern part of the country.
In fiscal 2012 (October 1, 2011 – September 30, 2012), Siemens’ sales to customers in Israel amounted EUR 167.7 million and new orders totaled almost EUR 147.3 million.
Siemens currently employs more than 400 people in Israel.

Over the past two years, the Healthcare Sector became a clear market leader in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) products with a market share over 40 percent. In addition, Siemens leads the neuro research performed on MRI systems at Israel’s leading universities such as the Hadassah Medical Center, the Weizman Institute and the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
