The company has been active in the country since 1911. It has been awarded the Caring Company logo by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service for nine consecutive years. Siemens is also an active member of Business Environment Council (BEC) to promote corporate social and environmental responsibility.
In fiscal 2012 (October 1, 2011 – September 30, 2012), Siemens’ sales to customers in Hong Kong amounted to EUR 236 million and new orders totaled nearly EUR 227.4 million.
Siemens currently has about 480 employees in Hong Kong.
In 1911, Siemens opened a sales office in Hong Kong and completed its first project in Macau. Siemens received the contract from MTR Corporation to equip its advanced Fixed Communications System on Hong Kong Section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link. When put into operation in 2015, the line will connect Hong Kong and Mainland with significantly reduced traveling time to as short as 14 minutes and reinforce Hong Kong as Mainland’s southern gateway.
