Siemens has been active in Ecuador for 36 years. The Company maintained its strong presence in Ecuador by contributing to the development of the country's energy segment. In fiscal 2012, Siemens continued to work closely with the Ecuadorian government, supporting its projects with technology solutions such as security, mobility and infrastructure systems. In order to maintain an integrated management system based on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction, Siemens’ quality management systems in Ecuador comply with the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards. To get closer to its customers, Siemens moved its Guayaquil offices in fiscal 2011 to the Columbus Business Park, a prestigious business center in the city.
In fiscal 2012 (October 1, 2011 – September 30, 2012), sales to customers in Ecuador amounted to over EUR 42.4 million and new orders totaled more than EUR 54.2 million. Siemens currently has 97 employees in Ecuador.

The Healthcare Sector, which is benefitting greatly from current reforms in Ecuador’s public healthcare system, won a contract to supply multi-modality equipment for the Makiber Project, a government health initiative in the city of Puyo. The Sector also supplied Hospital Solca Loja with a magnetic resonance imaging scanner. The hospital, which is a leading healthcare facility in the south of Ecuador, is currently modernizing its infrastructure with a special focus on cancer-related diagnosis and therapy.
