Siemens has been active in the country since 1886. This year, the company celebrated its 125th anniversary of being present on the Croatian market. Siemens offers a wide range of solutions and services in Croatia, where its Industry, Energy and Healthcare Sectors occupy leading positions. In fiscal 2011, Siemens in Croatia scored major successes in all three Sectors.
In fiscal 2011 (October 1, 2010 – September 30, 2011), Siemens’ sales to customers in Croatia amounted to EUR 101.7 million and new orders totalled EUR 128 million. Siemens currently has about 1,280 employees in Croatia.
The first evidence of Siemens’ connection to and interest in the territory of Croatia is a letter from the company’s representative, Herman Kellermann, dated March 1886, in which he informs the Vienna headquarters that there is potential for business. And he was right, as demonstrated by the fact that Siemens has been active on the Croatian market for the past 125 years.
Siemens’ success in the field of renewable energy sources continues. The company secured its largest individual contract ever in Croatia in fiscal 2011.The record sales by Siemens in fiscal 2010 to the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare were surely the pinnacle of its long-term cooperation with that organization. Pursuant to the contracts, which were executed in fiscal 2010, the Healthcare Sector supplied and commissioned four state-of-the-art ONCOR linear accelerators and three SOMATOM Sensation Open computed tomography (CT) simulators with 3D radiotherapy planning and dosimetry systems in 2011. The devices were installed in the oncology radiotherapy departments at the Clinical Hospital Center Rijeka, Clinical Hospital Center Zagreb and Clinical Hospital Center Osijek.
