Siemens has been active in Bahrain since 1950 and is highly committed to the social and economic progress of the region. Siemens has been involved in major infrastructure projects in Bahrain like Bahrain Airport, the Formula One racing course and government buildings. In fiscal year 2012, Siemens WLL in Bahrain officially launched a Middle East Service Center for Metallurgical Services for the Middle East’s steel and aluminum industry, based at the Bahrain International Investment Park in Salman International City.
In fiscal 2012 (October 1, 2011 – September 30, 2012), Siemens’ sales to customers in Bahrain amounted to more than EUR 23 million and new orders totaled approximately EUR 21 million. Siemens currently has about 50 employees in Bahrain.
Active in Bahrain since 1950, the company formed Siemens WLL in 2004. It has played an important part in many of Bahrain’s key infrastructure projects over the last 62 years including the Kingdom’s first independent power project (IPP), the 950-MW Al Ezzel power plant, and continues to be instrumental in the country’s ongoing development, delivering on the company’s core values of technological excellence, innovation, quality and reliability.
In fiscal 2012, Siemens secured an order to install FlexLab 3.6, a fully integrated laboratory automation system connected to state-of-the-art Siemens analyzers. The installation is the first fully automated core laboratory system in the Middle East, and is designed to independently handle all aspects of clinical pathology from various disciplines. The installation at King Hamad University Hospital will ensure faster and more accurate results in an environment that requires less human intervention, thereby minimizing errors due to mishandling or misinterpretation.
