Nokia Siemens Networks is a leading global enabler of telecommunications services.
We’re a leading global enabler of telecommunications services. With our focus on innovation and sustainability, we provide a complete portfolio of mobile, fixed and converged network technology as well as professional services including consultancy and systems integration, deployment, maintenance and managed services. We’re one of the largest telecommunications hardware, software and professional services companies in the world. Headquartered in Espoo, Finland, we’re active in 150 countries.
In June 2008, we joined the World Wildlife Fund’s Climate Savers campaign and committed ourselves to improving the efficiency of our GSM/EDGE and WCDMA/HSPA base stations 40 percent by 2012, reducing energy consumption in our buildings six percent and increasing the use of renewable energies to 50 percent in company operations by the end of 2010. These steps will enable us to cut our CO2 emissions by some two million tons annually, compared to the 2007 level. With our environmental strategy, we intend to benefit the environment by networking the world. To achieve this goal, we’re minimizing our environmental footprint, combining business interests and environmental protection and expanding the advantages of telecommunications to other industries.
The demand for end-to-end solutions is growing – and will continue to do so in the future. As a strong partner to our customers, we help them increase their profitability and master current and future market challenges by tailoring our offerings to their precise requirements, supporting them in the introduction of new business models and collaborating with them to develop innovations.
We not only offer the benefits of scale and international reach; we also have an in-depth understanding of communications service providers’ problems, an industry-leading research and development organization and a wide-ranging portfolio. But we know that size alone is not enough to ensure success in the rapidly changing communications industry. That’s why we’ve developed a continually evolving company structure and culture that enables us to meet the challenges faced by our customers on a day-to-day basis and to continue to play a key role in shaping the changes in our industry.
The explosive growth of network and internet traffic – in terms of both bandwidth and subscribers – is a major opportunity for communications service providers and equipment providers alike. However, it also brings problems – for example, previously installed complex and partially overlapping networks and network architectures that pose a technological challenge for both our customers and us. To master this challenge, we’re focusing on developing innovative and ecofriendly solutions that simplify network architectures and help ensure that ongoing growth processes are as smooth as possible.
