Our modernization and upgrade solutions increase the efficiency and capacity of existing power plants, enabling them to generate substantially more electricity with the same amount of fuel. Such solutions pay off – economically and environmentally. An example of our technology leadership is the continuous improvement of our F-class gas turbine fleet to raise the efficiency of these combined cycle plants to over 58 percent. Calpine Corporation, the largest U.S. operator of natural gas-fired combined-cycle plants, is employing this advanced technology to upgrade approximately one-third of its fleet of Siemens F-class gas turbines. The Siemens technology upgrades on each unit are intended to add incremental base load power while improving the efficiency of the entire engine.

Thanks to our extensive service network around the world, we can quickly and comprehensively offer expert field service support, maintenance, repairs, replacements, modernizations and upgrades of components, such as gas and steam turbines as well as generators, in large-scale and industrial power plants, and compressors in the oil and gas industry. Our portfolio is rounded out with air pollution control systems and services, helping our customers meet the most stringent environmental requirements for coal-fired generation.
